BOARD MEMBERS & COACHING STAFF
Dave Gamrath (President)When I was 27, I was trying to teach myself how to swim, and a lifeguard at the local pool invited me to join something called "masters", promising me free swim lessons. I became hooked, and 36 years later, swimming remains my favorite sport, exercise, and go-to activity for all-around benefits. Ninety minute coached workouts with good friends is a great way to start the day! | Craig Shaffer (Treasurer)I joined Swim Club 9 years ago after 40 years out of the water. Now, the Club's members and daily workouts are a big part of my daily and social life. Over the past several years, I have also been fortunate to compete in both State and National competitions. | Barb Ilse (Secretary)This is my second year as secretary of GVR Swim Club. I maintain the roster and keep communication flowing. I am also part of the social committee. I grew up swimming but just for fun, I was part of a synchronized swimming in college. I still have a very graceful (but slow) swim stroke. Swimming with better form and efficiency is my goal now. I have enjoyed improving my swim strokes and appreciate the club members who have helped me improve. I truly enjoy being a part of the GVRSC! |

Brad Eastridge Former PresidentI've been involved in physical fitness most of my life. I wrestled in high school and 1 year in college. After serving in the Army in Viet Nam, I started running with some friends. It was a "life-saver"! I started competing in some triathlons, but was not a good swimmer. I finally decided to take swimming more seriously about 12 years ago when I joined my wife, Joannie, at Michigan Masters Swim Club. The conditioning from swimming has helped me in triathlons. | Mascot |
